Cape Cod Mended Hearts chapter activities include monthly support meetings that always feature a health education topic of interest to the heart patient community.
Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month from 4 to 6pm in the Martins Conference Room on the 2nd Floor of Cape Cod Hospital.
At each meeting, there is also an opportunity to interact with other heart patients with similar conditions. Individuals with any type of heart condition, their families, caregivers, medical professionals, or anyone else interested in helping cardiac patients are welcome to attend a meeting and find out more about Mended Hearts.

Group Meetings
Support Groups - After diagnosis, treatment, or surgery for heart disease, patients and families have serious concerns and strong feeling. . .often questioning why they became ill and how to prevent future problems. Communication is key to coping. That's why Mended Hearts chapters offer bi-monthly group meetings where heart patients and families support one another.
Health Information Workshops - Healthcare professionals provide valuable information and answer questions at chapter meetings.
Visiting Program
Accredited visitors, with support of hospitals and clinics, serve heart patients by listening, sharing their experiences and empathizing with their anxieties and concerns. Heart patients and families gain hope by meeting our members, who have survived heart disease and are healthy.
Internet Visiting Program
Our trained volunteers offer online support, answer questions, and help locate resources. If you would like to talk to an Internet Visitor about your condition and concerns, please visit our national Web site at www.mendedhearts.org.
1-800 Help Line
When you dial 1-888-HEART99 (1-888-432-7899), we'll direct you to a chapter within your area. Trained volunteers also answer questions and concerns of heart patients and families.
Become a Member
You'll learn more about heart disease and interact with members through local chapter meetings, volunteer activities and special events.
Mended Hearts membership entitles you to:
- Receive our quarterly magazine HEARTBEAT
- Attend local chapter meetings for support and health information (Chapter Members Only)
- Participate in the visiting program for heart patients and their families (Chapter Members Only)
- Access the "Members Only" area of our National Web site:
- Most importantly, help insure that heart disease patients get support and encouragement.
Newsletter
Our chapter publishes a bi-monthly newsletter that keeps our members informed of our activities, and provides articles of information helpful to the Mended Hearts community of Cape Cod. All chapter members receive a free copy of this newsletter mailed to their home.
